Built for One Specific Problem

Every year, thousands of government exam applications get rejected before they're even reviewed — not because of merit, not because of eligibility, but because of a photo that's 2KB over the limit, or a PDF that's 3.1MB when the portal accepts only 3MB.

Portal requirements are strict and inconsistent. APPSC wants photos between 10KB and 50KB at exactly 3.5×4.5cm. UPSC wants 300×300px for its DAF form. SSC CGL specifies 280×340px with a maximum of 100KB. Railways asks for 132×170px at under 50KB. None of these are the same. None of them are labeled clearly during the application flow — you usually discover the limit only when the upload fails.

Generic tools don't help. Most free image resizers online give you a "download" that's still 800KB. Most PDF compressors upload your documents to a server in Europe, make you wait 60 seconds, then give you a file that's barely 5% smaller. And your Aadhaar, your caste certificate, your degree scans — they're sitting on some stranger's server now.

PrepTools processes everything in your browser. Not "processed securely on our servers" — actually in your RAM, on your device, never transmitted. The photo resizer knows APPSC requires exactly 20–50KB. The PDF compressor renders every page to JPEG quality levels you control, not just rearranges the internal file structure. The signature crop has APPSC's 140×60px preset built in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my files safe? Do you store them anywhere?
Your files never leave your device. All processing happens in your browser using JavaScript — no file is transmitted to any server. You can verify this by opening DevTools (F12) and watching the Network tab while uploading a file.
Why is this faster than other tools?
Other tools upload your file to a remote server, process it there, then send it back. That round trip adds 30–90 seconds depending on your connection. PrepTools processes the file directly in your browser's memory — no round trip, no wait.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. All tools are optimized for Android and iPhone browsers. The crop and resize tools use touch-friendly controls.
Will the output be accepted by the exam portal?
The presets are calibrated to each exam's published specifications. However, portal requirements change without notice. Always confirm the latest requirements on the official portal before your final upload.
Is there a file size limit?
The limit is your device's available memory (RAM). Most phones handle files up to 20–30MB without issue. For very large PDFs (100MB+), desktop browsers work better than mobile.
